Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

Today I tried the other fiber lash product as promised. I am pleased with the overall results with similar results from the other version tried earlier this week. This version was $29, but the sale does help an independent distributor.  This version also came in a pretty case.  One wish- add a mirror to the inside of the case!

I think using a lash comb would help my overall results and so I'll grab one the next time I see one cheap.

Fiber mascara reviews

So far I have tried two of the mascaras I wanted to try and mentioned in my last post.  I'm still waiting for a third to arrive and I will let you know my thoughts when it's here.  I've got to find a better way to take pictures, but you'll get the general idea.  I have no other makeup on in any of the pictures, other than what I list below.

First I went out to buy a mascara that was highly recommended by another blogger- CoverGirl's Lashblast Fusion.  The other blogger felt this was a great, everyday mascara.  For the price ($9 and change at Wal-Mart), I wasn't overly wowed with the results with this one and think some of the other mascaras I've been using, for a cheaper price, provide similar or even better results.

I then found someone had recommended a fiber mascara set available on Amazon.  I found mine with Prime Two-Day Shipping for $14.99 for two sets.  I had been researching these types of fiber mascaras and watched a few videos with suggestions for best results.  I tried the Love Alpha Lengthening & Thickening set.   Each set has two tubes (so I got a total of 4 tubes in my order).  One tube is a Mascara gel and the second was natural fiber.

Based on the videos I had watched, I wanted to avoid putting the fibers too close to my eye.  I decided to put on one base coat of my regular Avon brand mascara.  I think put a coat of the mascara gel on the top half of my lashes.  I swiped a coat of the fibers across the top of my lashes.  I waited a moment and then seal the fibers in with a second coat of the mascara gel.  Now, in the picture below I did two coats of the gel/fiber/gel technique, but I am so impressed with the results, even with my not so great pics.

The next set I'm waiting on is another gel/fiber set and I will let you know when I get it.  A few years ago I had eyelash extensions professionally done and though they looked great, they grew out quickly and were really rough when coming off my eyelashes.  The Love Alpha set went on quickly and I am super pleased with the results.  This is definitely something I will continue to use!

A Post!

In an effort to actually post on my blogs after my long absence due to some personal stuff, I wanted to let the zero people reading this know I'm still around.  Though beauty hasn't necessarily been my focus the past couple of months, I haven't let myself go entirely.

I've gone back to the basics with three products I have been using.  I highly recommend all three.

First- When removing makeup, especially the full on war paint I do from time to time, I've found cold cream really is the best.  They even have this available at the dollar store, so it's not a big investment.

Second- I started keeping a jar of Noxema in the shower for washing my face.  I love the menthol coolness and I really feel it does a great job.  If you forget the cold cream, the Noxema alone can remove all traces of even my heaviest eye makeup, but I like using the cold cream.

Finally- I read a blog from a star from the 70's who looks AMAZING.  She swears by using cocoa butter as her only moisturizer.  I've been trying it for a few months now and I really think it has helped.  My face doesn't feel as dry and the appearance is smoother and creamier.  You can find 100% cocoa butter in a variety of places, but I put it on every night before bed.  I sometimes do it again in the morning as just a moisturizer, but if I know I'll be out, I'll either replace or add some moisturizer with a little SPF protection.  Caution- watch the cocoa butter around your hairline.  If you have bangs, make sure to pull them off your face until the butter has totally soaked in or your hair might be feeling greasy.

I'm super excited to be trying some new mascara I have ordered that should be coming in the next few days.  There are three or so varieties I hope to choose, and I'll let you know the results here.

Recommendations for things I should try should be left in the comments, please!

NEW ARM & HAMMER (TM) Truly Radiant (TM)

NEW ARM & HAMMER (TM) Truly Radiant (TM)

As a member of Smiley360, I received an offer to try the New Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant toothpaste and Spin Brush.  I was so excited when I received the package in the mail!

I have been using the Spin Brush and toothpaste at least 2x/day since I received it.  With the first use, I realized how smooth and clean my teeth felt.  It was the same feeling you get after having your teeth polished at the dentist.  Even with my regular whitening toothpaste, my teeth still didn't look bright or white.  (Too, much coffee!)  Well, I can say even with just five days of use, I definitely can tell a difference.  My smile appears consistently brighter.

I highly recommend you give it a try!
