Cooling Cucumber Bath Soak

I still have plenty of beautiful cucumbers!  What's next on the cucumber recipe list?  There are few things better after a 90 degree day than a cool bath.  Add some of this recipe to your bath and take a well deserved soak!

Layered, from bottom you see Epsom Salts, crushed mint leaves, and my beautiful blended cucumbers.  Mix together, add to your bath water and soak at least 20 minutes.

If you have any left over, store in the fridge, but plan to use it within a few days or so.

Cucumber astringent

As promised, thanks to a bountiful cucumber harvest, here is the first way I used my blended up cucumbers....

Mix them with... NOTHING.  That's right.  You can make a great astringent for your face simply by applying this mixture and leaving it sit for a couple minutes.  Rinse off with cool water.  Ta-Da!

What's an astringent?  Astringents are used to constrict or shrink body tissues.  They are good for people with oily skin and provide relief from minor skin irritations.  They help make the skin soft and supple while cleaning and refreshing.  Concerned about pore size?  Give this a try and let me know how it works for you in the comments below.

Obviously, if you are allergic to cucumbers or have sensitive skin, skip this one or do an allergy patch test first!

Colbie Caillat - Try

Given that this is a beauty blog, I thought this was an appropriate place to post this.  I love this video and song.  Such a great message.  Given it a listen.

Cucumber Hair Conditioner

While this may look like a healthy smoothie, it's actually a hair conditioner.  It contains cucumber, whole eggs, and olive oil.  Apply to dry hair.  Wrap your hair in a warm, damp towel for up to an hour and shampoo as normal.  It smells great and really leaves your hair so soft.

If you like this product and want the full recipe, watch for upcoming details on my book!
