Almost Homemade: Pimple-Busting Cream
I love adding an ingredient (or two) to products I already have on hand to pump up their beauty or health benefits. Today's post is one such mashup.
After washing your face as usual, add a dot of your homemade pimple-busting cream. To make, mix 1tsp. of your favorite gentle, fragrance and oil free, face lotion with 3-5 drops of tea tree oil. Dab on your blemishes up to three times a day. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic.

Trying a new lotion recipe- Twilight Rose
This lotion is similar to the Twilight Rose Perfume fragrance although I think the rose does not come through as strong in this version. This has shea butter, olive oil, Vitamin E, rose water, patchouli oil and grapefruit oil.
This particular recipe must be blended with an electronic mixer or else it will not come together correctly. Once combined, it seems to hold the proper consistency fairly well, even in a very warm house. If you have any concerns, just shake a couple times before using but it seems to be holding up well.

Peppermint Lotion with Aloe
If you like a lotion not quite as thick as body butter, this is your recipe. Made from aloe vera, coconut oil, vitamin e, beeswax and your favorite essential oil, it glides over the skin and is very quickly absorbed. The hands are really soft, but not greasy or oily. You can use whatever scent you want, or leave it out completely. Peppermint will help energize you. If you are looking for a more soothing lotion, try lavender. Do not be afraid to blend your fragrances together. A vanilla-lavender blend would be nice here, too.

Lotion Bars
Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE these little lotion bars. These are my new favorite thing. Seriously. Wow.
I combined beeswax, coconut oil, vitamin e oil, flaxseed oil, and sweet almond oil. I also added some essential oil for scent, but you could make these unscented if you prefer. While these little babies are my sample versions, I would make bigger bars for gifts or personal use. I love how the molded versions came out. They popped right out of my mold form, too.
To use, you rub the bar across the skin you want moisturized. The heat of your body helps absorb the lotion and these turned out so much better than I could have even hoped for.
I would be sure to keep these in a cool place if you want the bar to keep it's shape for as long as possible. I am not sure how good these would be to mail in the summer months, but maybe once the weather gets cooler...
This is one you definitely want to try. Do it. I think this is going to be your new favorite lotion.
