Nail talk

I feel like I'm a failure when it comes to painting nails.  I never can seem to get the slick, sleek polish that seems so easy for so many people.  Heck, I'm not even looking for a fancy paint job!  I just don't want to appear as if I let a toddler slop paint all over the tips of my fingers.  I think my nails are small (narrow) and so it seems a lot of the brushes are too big (or that's my excuse) and I hate paint on my cuticles. So, are there any products you use or recommend that give you the best paint job?   I'd love to know any tricks of the trade!

In other nail news, I started using a cuticle oil on my nails.  A friend recommended it during a recent visit.  Swears that regular use promotes strong, healthy nails that won't peel!  I'm on day three or so of use, and it smells like wonderful mangos.  I'll let you know how it works and will post a picture in a recent post.  Has anyone else tried cuticle oil?  If so, let me know your results or the type you recommend.

In the next hour or so, I'm going to attempt a homemade sugar scrub.  Results will be posted as soon as I'm done with them!

Update 5/20/14- Here is a link I found to an article on why to use cuticle oil.  I thought some of you might be interested.
